Cambridge Youth

Marjorie invited the international non-profit organization "Peace One Day" to hold a daylong forum at Cambridge Rindge and Latin.  The interactive forum provided Cambridge youths to the opportunity to learn more young people from around the world and their commitment to being agents of change and peace.  The forum encouraged CRLS youth to see themselves as today's leaders of social justice. Peace One Day's mission is to  engage all sectors of society in observance of the United Nations declared International Day of Peace, September 21st, through the practical actions of non-violence and ceasefire, and encourage action on this "Peace Day" that creates a united and sustainable world. Peace One Day Education aims to advance active learning in the areas of conflict resolution, global citizenship, human rights and the link between sustainability and peace, using Peace Day 21st September as a focus.

Marjorie continues to work with Peace One Day to create opportunities for Cambridge Youth to engage with young people throughout the world.  Marjorie is working towards creating future opportunities for Cambridge Youth, such as holding live webcast conferences with children from the Ivory Coast and European countries.  She hopes to raise the funds to travel with a group of young people to their next conference abroad.  Already, Marjorie has accompanied Cambridge youth to El Salvador and Cuba on cultural exchanges.
