MARJORIE DECKER REELECTED PDF Print E-mail
NOVEMBER 12, 2007:  Cambridge City Councilor Marjorie Decker has been reelected to a 5th term on the city council, after receiving some 1069 #1 votes. Decker then landed another 1140 votes on the second ballot. Cambridge uses a proportional voting system in its municipal elections.

Decker’s vote tally placed her fifth, amongst the sixteen candidates seeking a seat on the nine-member council. With heavy rain falling on Election Day, just 24% (13.721) of registered Cambridge voters turned out.

After the election, Decker accompanied her husband, Bahij Bandar, on a delayed honeymoon to his native Lebanon. The couple married in September, but delayed their honeymoon until after the election.

“This was a tough campaign and I’m very pleased to have the privilege of returning to the council for another term,” said Decker. “Thank you to the people who turned out to vote on a cold rainy day. I deeply appreciate the support that I have received from the people of Cambridge and am looking forward to the new term that is about to start.”
